Baptism XI
Brother E. C. Moore
1Co 1:22 For the Jews require
a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
Act 1:6 When they therefore
were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time
restore again the kingdom to
Act 1:7 And he said unto
them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath
put in his own power.
Act 1:8 But ye shall receive
power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in
Mat 25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into
a far country, who called his own
servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
Act 1:9 And when he had
spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received
him out of their sight.
Mat 25:15 And unto one he gave
five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his
several ability; and straightway took his journey.
Act 8:10 To whom they all
gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power
of God.
2Co 12:4 How that he was
caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful
for a man to utter.
2Co 12:6 For though I would
desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me
above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
2Co 12:7 And lest I should be
exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given
to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should
be exalted above measure.
2Co 4:7 But we have this
treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God,
and not of us.
2Co 12:8 For this thing I
besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
2Co 12:9 And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of
Christ may rest upon me.
1Co 3:19 For the wisdom of
this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in
their own craftiness.
Act 1:8 But ye shall receive
power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed
of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one
that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto
you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was
buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was
in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses
unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all
men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God
and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Ti 2:6 Who gave himself a
ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto
you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was
buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Rom 4:14 For if they which
are of the law be heirs, faith is made
void, and the promise made of none effect:
Rom 4:15 Because the law
worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is
no transgression.
Rom 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it
might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the
seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the
faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Phi 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I
count all things but loss for the
excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered
the loss of all things, and do count them but
dung, that I may win Christ,
Rom 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it
might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed;
not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of
Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I
have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth
those things which be not as though they were.
Rom 4:18 Who against hope
believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to
that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
Rom 4:20 He staggered not at
the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to
God;
Rom 4:21 And being fully
persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated
us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the
good pleasure of his will,
2Co 5:21 For he hath made him
to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that
we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Mar 15:34 And at the ninth
hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which
is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Rom 3:10 As it is written,
There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God;
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Act 1:8 But ye shall receive
power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the
uttermost part of the earth.
1Co 14:34 Let your women keep
silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also
saith the law.
1Co 14:23 If therefore the
whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and
there come in those that are unlearned,
or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
Act 2:2 And suddenly there
came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the
house where they were sitting.
Act 2:3 And there appeared
unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Act 2:4 And they were all
filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the
Spirit gave them utterance.
Act 2:5 And there were
dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Act 2:6 Now when this was
noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that
every man heard them speak in his own language.
Act 2:7 And they were all
amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which
speak Galilaeans?
Act 2:8 And how hear we
every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Act 2:9 Parthians, and
Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and
Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Act 2:10 Phrygia, and
Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of
Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Act 2:11 Cretes and Arabians,
we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Act 2:12 And they were all
amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
1Co 1:22 For the Jews require
a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
Act 10:44 While Peter yet
spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Act 10:45 And they of the
circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter,
because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 10:46 For they heard them
speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Hos 1:9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God;
1Co 1:22 For the Jews require
a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto
you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was
buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Act 16:31 And they said,
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD
with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
