Abram's Name
Some
teachers tell their audience that when the King James Bible
uses the word ABRAHAM instead
of ABRAM in Galatians and Romans that it's an error. Are those who do
that more
interested in being a BIBLE CORRECTOR than being a BIBLE BELIEVER?
There are some who say that the name
ABRAHAM refers to
Abraham in circumcison but that Paul teaches about the justification of
ABRAM in uncircumcision. And that is correct (as in Genesis 15:6) but
it is INCORRECT to claim that the King James Bible is in error
when Paul uses the name Abraham instead of Abram.
Paul refers to ABRAHAM as being the father
of MANY NATIONS. He refers to ABRAHAM as being the "father of us all."
In Romans Paul says:
Romans
4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end
the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of
the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the
father of us all,
In
Galatians Paul says:
Galatians
3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
This is a reference to GOD FEARING
Gentiles in the bible who are called GREEKS who fear the God of Abraham
and who are IN the covenants of promise rather than being ALIENS and
STRANGERS from them, as in the book of Ephesians chapter two, verse 11
and 12.
Paul
also says to those Galatians:
Galatians
3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through
Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through
faith.
There
was a PROMISE involved where the Galatians were concerned, but God
never made any promises to the likes of the Ephesians, or you and me.
There was a mystery involved where our salvation is concerned.
There are people in your bible who
received the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM because they FEARED the God of
Abraham, they blessed the seed of Abraham and were right there with
them in the synagogues of the Jews seeking the wisdom of the God of
Abraham. In other words, they had a spiritual connection with
Abraham.
1
Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after
wisdom:
So when
Paul uses the name ABRAHAM instead of the name ABRAM he is right, and
the King James Bible is right and your local BIBLE CORRECTOR IS WRONG.
Abram's name was changed in Genesis chapter 17 BEFORE he was
circumcised, and look at what THE BIBLE says:
Genesis 17:3 And Abram fell on his face:
and God talked with him, saying,
Genesis
17:4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a
father of many nations.
Genesis
17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name
shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
Notice in Genesis 17:5 God says his name
is NO LONGER Abram but ABRAHAM and God says I HAVE MADE THEE, already
made thee, a father of many nations.
Later on, in the same chapter, in verse
nine, THE CONTEXT CHANGES and ABRAHAM receives the covenant of
CIRCUMCISION. Paul KNEW what he was talking about and so does YOUR KING
JAMES BIBLE:
Romans
4:9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon
the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham
for righteousness.
Romans
4:10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in
uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
Abram's name was changed to Abraham, and
he was MADE a father of many nations in UNCIRCUMCISION in Genesis 17:5
BEFORE the circumcision of Genesis 17:9
Romans 4:11 And he received the sign of
circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet
being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that
believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be
imputed unto them also:
The King
James Bible is right, your BIBLE CORRECTOR is WRONG. Your bible
corrector needs to become a BIBLE BELIEVER.
