Over 200 Verses That Differ
Religion today, for the most part,
wants to "follow Jesus." They say they are following Jesus and what
they are referring to is the four Gospel accounts of the Lord's earthly
ministry in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They also say "God is God and
God don't every change," and they like to quote Hebrews 13:8 which says
"Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever."
There is no doubt that God is God and
that he doesn't change. As a matter of fact He said, "I change not" in
Malachi 3:6. But while God doesn't change, the manner in which He deals
with people changes, and His instructions change, in direct relation to
His PURPOSE at the time. God's purpose today is NOT to restore a
kingdom upon the earth, but to complete the church, the body of Christ.
Failing to see the difference is the DIRECT CAUSE of a HUGE part of the
dissension and the confusion in religion today.
So to demonstrate how God HAS said
different things at different times, we are going to look at over 200
VERSES WHICH DIFFER. Keep in mind that things that are different are
not the same. As we go through the verses, consider not only what is
said, as it says it, where it says it, but consider the comparisons of
the things that are different.
For instance, John writes, in a
tribulation context, by the way:
1 John 2:27 But the anointing which
ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man
teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is
truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in
him.
So John says that the people he
writes to have no need for a teacher. Now compare:
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some,
apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors
and teachers;
Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of
the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body
of Christ:
Obviously, the body of Christ has
things it needs to learn, so God provided teachers. Do you see the
contrast?
2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of
Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for
all, then were all dead:
2 Corinthians 5:15 And that he died
for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto
themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore
henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known
Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any
man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are
of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath
given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God
was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their
trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of
reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are
ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray
you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made
him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him.
Now see if you think what Paul wrote
to the Corinthians, is really the same as the so-called "great
commission in Matthew 28, Mark 16 and Luke 24:
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and
teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Well you might say it sounds similar,
but it's not. It's not even the same commission. Look again:
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go
ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is
baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall
follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they
shall speak with new tongues;
Mark 16:18 They shall take up
serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had
spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right
hand of God.
Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and
preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the
word with signs following. Amen.
Notice the words "they shall", not
might. "They shall" cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues,
not might. They shall lay hands on the sick and THEY SHALL recover. Not
maybe. Not if your love offering is big enough or if your faith is big
enough.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy
Ghost.
Now notice the difference in what
Peter told the Jews on the Day of Pentecost in Acts chapter two and
what Paul later said to the Phillipian jailor in Acts 16:
Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on
the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Peter says repent and be baptized,
but Paul doesn't say DO ANYTHING. He says believe something. Baptism
with water requires a physical effort, by at least two people, unless
you plan to baptize yourself. That's a work. It requires physical
effort. It requires work to be water baptized.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved
us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh
not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is
counted for righteousness.
Now in Romans 4:5 Paul is using
Abraham for an example, and Abraham, in the passage, didn't DO
ANYTHING, he just believed God and it was counted to him for
righteousness. Look at the BIG difference in the following two
situations:
Acts 2:42 And they continued
stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of
bread, and in prayers.
Acts 4:34 Neither was there any among
them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses
sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
Romans 15:26 For it hath pleased them
of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor
saints which are at Jerusalem.
Did it ever occur to you to wonder
WHY there are POOR SAINTS IN JERUSALEM by the time of Acts chapter
twenty when Romans was written?
Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be
converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of
refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
Acts 3:20 And he shall send Jesus
Christ, which before was preached unto you:
Is COMING and GOING the same thing?
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord
himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise
first:
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which
are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the
Lord.
Being caught up to meet the Lord in
the air is in sharp contrast to Peter expecting the Lord to return to
the Mount of Olives as Zechariah had said in Zechariah 14:4, and as the
two angels had told the disciples in Acts chapter one.
Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must
receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath
spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of
power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of
Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was
kept secret since the world began,
How can some people think that the
things which were spoken since the world began are the same as the
things kept secret since the world began? Note PROPHECY on the one hand
and MYSTERY on the other:
PROPHECY: Acts 3:24 Yea, and all the
prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have
spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
MYSTERY: Colossians 1:26 Even the
mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is
made manifest to his saints:
Acts 3:25 Ye are the children of the
prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying
unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be
blessed.
Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of
God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that
believe: for there is no difference:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of God;
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by
his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
In Romans it makes no difference
whose children you are, because there is NO difference.
From none that lacked to poor
saints.....is that not a difference?
Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with
his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to
Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of
these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to
them that obey him.
Now compare repentance TO ISRAEL,
with this:
Ephesians 1:19 And what is the
exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to
the working of his mighty power,
Ephesians 1:20 Which he wrought in
Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right
hand in the heavenly places,
Ephesians 1:21 Far above all
principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that
is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all
things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to
the church,
Ephesians 1:23 Which is his body, the
fulness of him that filleth all in all.
The point is, the body of Christ is
NOT Israel, and Israel is not the church, the body of Christ.
Acts 6:9 Then there arose certain of
the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and
Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia,
disputing with Stephen.
Acts 6:10 And they were not able to
resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
Why did Stephen speak to the Jews
with such wisdom.? HE HAD IT! He had the unction, the annointing of 1
John. Do you have it?
Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be
alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to
answer every man.
The point is, unless you are careful
about your speech, you WILL NOT KNOW, how to answer every man.
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou?
arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of
the Lord.
That's the account of Paul being
water baptized. But how are his sins washed away? Are they washed away
with water or by CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD?
1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some
of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified
in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Let's talk about food:
Deuteronomy 14:3 Thou shalt not eat
any abominable thing.
Deuteronomy 14:4 These are the beasts
which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
Deuteronomy 14:5 The hart, and the
roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and
the wild ox, and the chamois.
Deuteronomy 14:6 And every beast that
parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth
the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.
Deuteronomy 14:7 Nevertheless these
ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the
cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew
the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
Deuteronomy 14:8 And the swine,
because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean
unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.
Compare the dietary laws under the
Law of Moses with what Paul said:
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh
expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in
hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1 Timothy 4:3 Forbidding to marry,
and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be
received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1 Timothy 4:4 For every creature of
God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with
thanksgiving:
1 Timothy 4:5 For it is sanctified by
the word of God and prayer.
In other words, you are free to eat
anything that don't eat you first!
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye
saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any
man should boast.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath
before ordained that we should walk in them.
Salvation is free to you. It is a
gift and cannot be earned or KEPT by good works. But:
Luke 10:25 And, behold, a certain
lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to
inherit eternal life?
Luke 10:26 He said unto him, What is
written in the law? how readest thou?
Luke 10:27 And he answering said,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy
soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy
neighbour as thyself.
Luke 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou
hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
Luke 10:29 But he, willing to justify
himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
Now that's the RED LETTER salvation
of those who followed Jesus. Do you follow Jesus in his ministry to the
Jews on earth, or do you follow the risen, ascended, glorified Lord
Jesus Christ?
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and
one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith,
one baptism,
How many Lord's? One. How many
faith's? One. Whose is it? The faith OF Christ! and ONE baptism.
Compare that with:
Hebrews 9:9 Which was a figure for
the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices,
that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to
the conscience;
Hebrews 9:10 Which stood only in
meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed
on them until the time of reformation.
Divers washings is the same as
VARIOUS baptisms. But that is not the case here:
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and
one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith,
one baptism,
Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of
all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ephesians 4:7 But unto every one of
us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith,
When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts
unto men.
Ephesians 4:9 (Now that he ascended,
what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the
earth?
Ephesians 4:10 He that descended is
the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might
fill all things.)
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some,
apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors
and teachers;
Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of
the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body
of Christ:
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in
the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a
perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be
no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind
of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby
they lie in wait to deceive;
Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth
in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even
Christ:
Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole
body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint
supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every
part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Now let's talk about the casting away
of Israel:
Romans 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast
away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of
Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
Romans 11:5 Even so then at this
present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
Romans 11:11 I say then, Have they
stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their
fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to
jealousy.
Romans 11:12 Now if the fall of them
be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of
the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
Romans 11:13 For I speak to you
Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine
office:
Romans 11:14 If by any means I may
provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of
them.
Romans 11:15 For if the casting away
of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of
them be, but life from the dead?
Romans 11:25 For I would not,
brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be
wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to
Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Now, how could anyone think, in view
of these verses, that they are a "spiritual Jew" or "spiritual Israel?"
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day,
to keep it holy.
Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou
labor, and do all thy work:
Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is
the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work,
thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy
maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exodus was written to Israel,
Colossians was written TO YOU:
Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore
judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the
new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Colossians 2:17 Which are a shadow of
things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Would you agree that things have
changed then?
Exodus 31:15 Six days may work be
done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD:
whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to
death.
Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore
judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the
new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Things that are different are not the
same.
Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hath
concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ
might be given to them that believe.
It says the SCRIPTURE has concluded
ALL UNDER SIN. What does he mean by scripture?
Romans 3:19 Now we know that what
things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law:
that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty
before God.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of
the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to
every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
ONly Paul preaches the gospel of
Christ. Nowhere does Peter, James or John claim to. Instead their
message is the gospel OF the circumcision, as in Galatians 2:7
Genesis 17:9 And God said unto
Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed
after thee in their generations.
Genesis 17:10 This is my covenant,
which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every
man child among you shall be circumcised.
Genesis 17:11 And ye shall circumcise
the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant
betwixt me and you.
There is no way to make EVERY MAN
CIRCUMCIZED mean this:
Galatians 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto
you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
Galatians 5:3 For I testify again to
every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Look again:
Genesis 17:11 And ye shall circumcise
the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant
betwixt me and you.
Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus
neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new
creature.
God doesn't change. Jesus Christ is
the same....BUT THE DOCTRINE CHANGES.
Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to
pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet
speaking, I will hear.
They won't even HAVE TO PRAY. Before
they call I will answer, it says. But the Apostle Paul writes to the
church today:
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with
all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with
all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Now, what about justification?
James 2:24 Ye see then how that by
works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved
us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Did you ever wonder why Christ was
baptized? It wasn't to wash away his sins!
John 1:31 And I knew him not: but
that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come
baptizing with water.
So Christ was manifest to Israel. Do
you have anything to manifest to Israel? What about Ephesians? Where is
the water in this passage:
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and
one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith,
one baptism,
Look at the rules one more time:
Leviticus 11:7 And the swine, though
he divide the hoof, and be cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud;
he is unclean to you.
Leviticus 11:8 Of their flesh shall
ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch; they are unclean to
you.
1 Timothy 4:4 For every creature of
God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with
thanksgiving:
Now, did God change? No. What He SAID
is different. Not God.
Luke 9:2 And he sent them to preach
the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
They preached the gospel of the
kingdom. But look here:
Acts 20:23 Save that the Holy Ghost
witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
Acts 20:24 But none of these things
move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might
finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of
the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Did you know that the gospel of the
Kingdom is not the same message as the gospel of the grace of God?
Luke 9:3 And he said unto them, Take
nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread,
neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
Is there a change in the Lord's
instructions here? Even to the SAME 12 men?
Luke 22:36 Then said he unto them,
But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip:
and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
Scripture is NOT a great big one pot
meal. We should discern the things that are different
Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock;
for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Compare that with this:
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Which is it, heavenly places IN
CHRIST or earthly blessings in the Kingdom?
Luke 12:50 But I have a baptism to be
baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
Every time you see the word BAPTISM,
don't automatically insert WATER.
Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many
of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Luke 21:14 Settle it therefore in
your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
Luke 21:15 For I will give you a
mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to
gainsay nor resist.
Can you confront your adversaries
confident that you will be given a mouth and wisdom they won't be able
to resist?
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself
approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the word of truth.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same
yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Is He? Yes he is. BUT, does he always
say the same things all the time?
Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into
swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
Now which is it? The verse above is
the exact opposite of the verse below, yet they were both spoken to the
same group of people:
Isaiah 2:4 And he shall judge among
the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their
swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation
shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war
any more.
So God says different things at
different times.
Mark 1:14 Now after that John was put
in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom
of God,
Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is
fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe
the gospel.
Is that the same as this?
Ephesians 3:1 For this cause I Paul,
the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
Ephesians 3:2 If ye have heard of the
dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
Ephesians 3:3 How that by revelation
he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
Should you TAKE NO THOUGH or should
you TAKE THOUGHT?
Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead
you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall
speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in
that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy
Ghost.
2 Timothy 3:14 But continue thou in
the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of
whom thou hast learned them;
See the difference here:
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go
ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
But later on:
Galatians 2:1 Then fourteen years
after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with
me also.
Galatians 2:2 And I went up by
revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among
the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by
any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
Do you see the change there? Now
watch this:
Mark 16:18 They shall take up
serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
1 Timothy 5:23 Drink no longer water,
but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often
infirmities.
I can SEE A DIFFERENCE between the
verse in Mark and the one in Timothy, can you?
2 Timothy 4:20 Erastus abode at
Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.
Are you meek?
Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for
they shall inherit the earth.
Colossians 1:3 We give thanks to God
and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Colossians 1:4 Since we heard of your
faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
Colossians 1:5 For the hope which is
laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the
truth of the gospel;
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on
things above, not on things on the earth.
Either EARTH or HEAVEN, but not both.
Now DID GOD CHANGE?
Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore
shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he
shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall
do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of
heaven.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have
dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Now THAT'S an either/or proposition
with no in between. Either LAW OR GRACE. Not both.
Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto
you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall
drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life
more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Now, should you take thought, or take
no thought?
1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not
for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied
the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
Look at the TWO gospels in the next
two verses:
Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went about all
the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching
the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease
among the people.
Acts 20:24 But none of these things
move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might
finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of
the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Is it ALL MEN or just CERTAIN MEN?
Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent
forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles,
and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that
bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Do you see the UPDATED INFORMATION in
these two verses?
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go
ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Galatians 2:2 And I went up by
revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among
the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by
any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
Now see if you see the Lord CHANGE
here:
Matthew 10:9 Provide neither gold,
nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not
for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied
the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
God didn’t change, but what He said
in Matthew is not the same as what he said in Timothy, is it?
Look at SENT OR NOT SENT:
Matthew 15:21 Then Jesus went thence,
and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
Matthew 15:22 And, behold, a woman of
Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have
mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed
with a devil.
Matthew 15:23 But he answered her not
a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away;
for she crieth after us.
Matthew 15:24 But he answered and
said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Romans 10:12 For there is no
difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is
rich unto all that call upon him.
Was there a difference in Matthew
that is not there in Romans?
Matthew 21:22 And all things,
whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Now, be honest, did you ever try that
and fail?
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also
helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we
ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings
which cannot be uttered.
So rather than all the annointings
and blessings of tribulation saints enduring to the Kingdom, Paul says
that we have such an infirmity of the flesh that we cannot even rise to
the occasion of decent prayer. But:
Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the
hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh
intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Now compare these two different
situations:
Matthew 23:2 Saying The scribes and
the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
Matthew 23:3 All therefore whatsoever
they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their
works: for they say, and do not.
So those following Jesus, in his
earthly ministry, were under the law. Yet, Paul writes:
Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in
the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled
again with the yoke of bondage.
Both the ministry and the message is
different:
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the
kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all
nations; and then shall the end come.
But Paul says that there is a coming
day:
Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall
judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
The gospel preached by Paul is not
the same as the gospel of the Kingdom preached in Matthew 24. Now the
message, the prophecy of the Kingdom was well known, being spoken since
the world began. But look at this:
Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of
power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of
Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was
kept secret since the world began,
Romans 16:26 But now is made
manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the
commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the
obedience of faith:
In the great commission, Peter, James
and John were sent forth to baptize:
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and
teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
But the Lord sent Paul not to baptize:
1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me
not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words,
lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
By the way, if you happened to be an
Israelite following Jesus in the red letters, or if you claim that you
“follow Jesus” in the red letters, take note of this:
Numbers 15:32 And while the children
of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks
upon the sabbath day.
Numbers 15:33 And they that found him
gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the
congregation.
Numbers 15:34 And they put him in
ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
Numbers 15:35 And the LORD said unto
Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall
stone him with stones without the camp.
Numbers 15:36 And all the
congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones,
and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.
Did you ever mow the grass, or pick
up sticks, on Saturday? Which is the Sabbath.
Galatians 4:9 But now, after that ye
have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the
weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
Galatians 4:10 Ye observe days, and
months, and times, and years.
Galatians 4:11 I am afraid of you,
lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
In Proverbs you have doctrine which
can be applied to everyone today:
Proverbs 6:6 Go to the ant, thou
sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Proverbs 6:7 Which having no guide,
overseer, or ruler,
Proverbs 6:8 Provideth her meat in
the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
But the Lord told the little flock:
Luke 12:22 And he said unto his
disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life,
what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
Luke 12:23 The life is more than
meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Luke 12:24 Consider the ravens: for
they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and
God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock;
for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
They were promised supernatural
provision in tribulation. They also could fall away. The Spirit could
be taken from them:
Psalms 51:11 Cast me not away from
thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
But that is not the case with you:
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the
holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
In your case, you are sealed unto the
day of redemption. Now look at the difference between the ministry of
Paul and that of Christ:
Romans 1:13 Now I would not have you
ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but
was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as
among other Gentiles.
Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the
Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
Romans 15:8 Now I say that Jesus
Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to
confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
In this age there is NO respect of
persons:
Romans 2:11 For there is no respect
of persons with God.
But in the Lord's earthly ministry
that was not the case:
Matthew 15:24 But he answered and
said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
He was sent to Israel under the law
and kept the law and taught others to do the same.
Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness
of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and
the prophets;
Paul preached salvation by grace
through faith apart from the law. The Jews were filled with envy:
Acts 13:45 But when the Jews saw the
multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things
which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas
waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should
first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge
yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
And Israel was concluded in unbelief:
Romans 11:32 For God hath concluded
them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
Israel had had an advantage:
Romans 3:1 What advantage then hath
the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
Paul answers that question by saying
much, every way. And they did:
Romans 15:8 Now I say that Jesus
Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to
confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
But look a few verses further down:
Romans 15:16 That I should be the
minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of
God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being
sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
Now here is the difference in
salvation under the Kingdom program and under grace:
Mark 10:17 And when he was gone forth
into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked
him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
Mark 10:18 And Jesus said unto him,
Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
Mark 10:19 Thou knowest the
commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not
bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
Mark 10:20 And he answered and said
unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him
loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell
whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have
treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
Mark 10:22 And he was sad at that
saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
So to participate in the message of
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John you had to keep the commandments, sell all
that you own, and take up your cross and follow the Lord, unto death,
in order to enter the Kingdom. But here is Paul's message for today:
Titus 3:5 Not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved
us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Titus 3:6 Which he shed on us
abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Titus 3:7 That being justified by his
grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
The only possible conclusion you can
make once you have honestly compared the above verses and their
contrasts is to acknowledge that there ARE two totally different
doctrines of salvation in the bible. One is a TIME PAST message and one
is for NOW. In our case, it is not necessary to go anywhere, do
anything, or even say anything in order to receive salvation by grace
alone through faith alone. All we need do is simply trust in the
finished work of Christ at the cross. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
and thou shalt be saved. Amen.
