The Bus Tour

John Bunyan, many years ago, wrote the book called “Pilgrim’s Progress.” While it was somewhat dispensationally incorrect, the main character of the book, “Pilgrim,” had the right idea.

The idea of “the bus tour” came from my associate, Cindy. It was a way to convey in a very simplified manner, the idea of the progressive revelation given to the aposlte Paul pertaining to the church, the body of Christ. Paul said that he had an “abundance of revelations,” and that a dispensation (like an administration) of God was given to him to “fulfill the word of God.” Without the “visions and revelations of the Lord” given to Paul, scripture would simply have a big gap in it.

Paul wrote 13 books in the bible, more than anyone, at any time. In those books, Romans through Philemon, and only there, can you find the complete doctrine, the hope, the walk, the eternal destiny and the eternal security of the believer in Jesus Christ. The fact that there is such a thing as the body of Christ can only be found in Paul’s epistles. It was only Paul who preached “my gospel,” and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was kept secret since the world began.

By the time you finish this little series of articles, we hope you have a clear idea of the differences and distinctions between the “Gospel of the Kingdom” and the “Gospel of the Grace of God.” Believe me, there is a vast difference!

At any rate, here are some more of the metaphors Cindy used in “the bus tour:”
